[edit]
Grid Pro 1.0.3 - CURRENTLY BETA TESTING
[edit]
1.0.3b1 - 10/17/2005
- FX - fixed bug related to mainoutput w/ mosaic FX (more specifically - Jitter/VNS bridge objects)
[edit]
1.0.3b2 - 10/20/2005
- Video analysis - use any video tap as a source for video analysis
- Slider Inspector - fixed "disappearing wave speed" in slider inspector problem
- FX - fixed potential crash with horizontal/vertical hold FX
- FX - fixed bug in noise FX when switching from colors to grays
- General - fixed crash with opening book files via menu in OS 10.3.9
- General - various minor interface tweaks
[edit]
1.0.3b3 - 10/25/2005
- Flash - No more Flash enable, GP will now automatically detect and handle Flash movies, for improved performance when mixing Flash with regular video sources.
- Flash - Fixed problem with incorrect file lengths and looping with certain Flash movies.
- Thumbnails - Smarter resizing for improved thumbnail image quality.
- Thumbnails - Audio files loaded into media grid now show up with a speaker icon instead of a black frame.
- FX - Various stability tweaks with certain FX
- Slider - The new message is "set_both_envs", followed by an integer ranged 0-16383. It sets the position of both envelopes simultaneously. For use with shortcuts (example coming soon!)
- Mouse over hint text (work in progress) - Hover your mouse over certain interface items to display more information. So far only the transport, mixer, toolbar, and some parts of the inspector/FX section have finished as I want to make sure there aren't any problems with the hint drawing before doing all of that work. You can turn the hint text on/off in the preferences.
[edit]
1.0.3b4 - 10/31/2005
This beta only fixes small problem with live input introduced in 1.0.3b3
[edit]
1.0.3b5 - 11/4/2005
This beta attempted to fix a playback performance problem introduced in 1.0.3b2
[edit]
1.0.3b6 - 11/9/2005
- Live Input - The buffer when using the live input in the transport controls now functions more like a delay than a circular buffer. Instead of showing the position in the buffer, the time slider now displays the amount of delay you are applying to the live input, making it very easy to set to 0 when you want to just show the live source. The speed slider adjust the amount of delay such that if you set the speed to 1x, the delay stays in the say place, and if you set the speed to 0x (or pause the video), the delay will increase by one frame each time a new frame comes in, essentially "stopping" the live input until the buffer runs out.
- Live Input - You can now set the length of the buffer (in prefs under Live Input), anywhere from 1 to 600 frames. So if you don't really use the live input at all, you can set the buffer to 1 and save a lot of RAM. On the other hand, if you have a need for a really long delay and plenty of RAM to spare, go nuts - it's about 280 kb per frame @ 320x240.
- File playback - Playing still images work again
- Various triggering related crashes - it seemed there was a point in the triggering code where it would try to start playing back the movie before it was done switching between movies (or when no movie was loaded). Usually occurred when triggering clips very quickly, especially on a slower disk or when pre-rolling was off. Shouldn't be a problem anymore.
[edit]
1.0.3b7 - 11/12/2005
- fixed scrubbing/polling bug introduced in 1.0.3b6
- media folder - a la Grid2, place missing movies in the Media folder and they'll be found when loading books without having to relink
- new load last screen that let's you pick a book to load (still toying with the design)
[edit]
1.0.3b8 - 11/17/2005
- Fixed playback stuttering introduced in earlier 1.0.3b2
- Updates to the sequencer to work with stills and auto-flash/QC detection.
[edit]
1.0.3b9 - 12/16/2005
- Movie player - fixed "stuck bus" problem of 1.0.3b6-b8
- Media Grid - fixed loading problem that caused some cells to trigger the movie to the left
- FX - Basic FreeFrame support; comes with 39 of the free Pete Warden FX. As a note, some of these tend to be somewhat slow. Currently we have to manually make "wrappers" for FreeFrame FX, so if you know of any FreeFrame developers who have Mac versions of their pluggins (there don't appear to be many unfortunately), just have them get in touch with us and we'd be happy to put together the wrappers. Basically the wrapper is a Grid Pro FX that loads the FreeFrame FX, and provides a Gesture Slider for each parameter. At some point in the near future Grid Pro will automatically be able to create these wrappers when the problem loads.
- FX - trying out something new with the horizontal hold FX (left the v.hold FX the same for the time being). instead of setting a rate, now use a gesture slider to control the offset (use a linear ramp for the standard scrolling effect, set speed using slider inspector). if you don't like it, you can copy the old version from one of the previous beta's and let us know why.
[edit]
1.0.3b10 - 1/5/2006
- Sequencer - fixed the issue with "trigger on movie loop" mode in the sequencer introduced in 1.0.3b9 (quite tricky)
- FX - small reported bug with switching the light/dark option in spot-color
[edit]
1.0.3rc1 - 2/8/2006
- FX - "s.tap-movie" crash fixed (see rc2 for still image & Flash/QC fix)
- Prefs - fixed minor issue with live input auto-bounds settings
- Transport - fixed "to_transport adjust_playhead_by_frame" shortcuts message
- General - Fade to black/white works again (affects main output only!)
