VDMX Group on Flickr.

Postby hob » Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:16 am

Hello everyone,

Flickr has just added video, and I happen to think it's a very good implementation! Quality is great.

The limitations set by Flickr are up to 90 seconds and 150MB. So you can upload very good quality video!

So if you'd like to share you VDMX work, whether photos or videos, please come and join the group!

Cheers!

Ah, I had started a channel on vimeo (http://www.vimeo.com/vidvox/) a few days ago, but now it does look like flickr is going to be the preferred video host now too..

I just heard that the Flickr-community does not like the new feature of adding video. It's a amateur-photographers community and they are afraid that the videostreams cost too much bandwidth so the site slows down because of this.

I can understand longtime Flickr member being concerned about this development, actually. Online video eats so much bandwidth. Unless Flickr have REALLY beefed-up there servers and network connections, I have a suspicion the objectors may have a point.

I think when I get around to uploading some video stuff myself, I'm going to stick with Vimeo. I'll wait and see how the Flickr video thing pans out.
