And a few pics from Kentons new "Killamix DJ".
Looks like it could be a cool VJ controller too, when its for sale.

The unit has three channel strips and a master section.

Each channel strip has a Master Volume with six rotary knobs below that. Beneath that again are 6 buttons which illuminate when active, intended for mutes, AB selection and headphone monitor. Beneath that are two pads which can be used for firing off samples. It is intended that on production versions, these pads would be velocity sensitive, allowing them to be used as drum pads.

The master section is similar but beneath the master volume has four rotary knobs and a joystick. Again it has the six buttons, and below that a cross-fader.

The whole unit is finished in brushed aluminium, and has USB and MIDI ports for connection to your computer. Production models would be mains powered, although the prototype shown uses a power adaptor. Production models will have aluminium knobs too, rather than the Moog type knobs on this prototype.

A very cool controller could be a keyboard. Imagine how many keys there are!
Especially if you have a OLED keyboard. You can make custom thumbnails for your keys:

Are they on sale yet?

EDIT: Found it! Good news: On sale! Bad news: 1.200 bucks!

game pad controller

nice to see all your control devices!

How do you set up the game controller in VDMX- is there support for that? Do you think a logitech gamepad could work too?

The iShock is used to control some of my Quartz Composer compositions. I use the HID input patch for that.

If you want to use it control VDMX or any other MIDI compatible program you need Steim's Junxion. If translates almost any controller to MIDI. http://www.steim.org/steim/junxion_v2.html

Korg Nano

Postby waxedknight » Tue Dec 09, 2008 3:49 pm

You guys seen these puppies?

Image

Awesome USB controllers from Korg, best part is, they are $60 bucks each!!!!

I also picked up one of these recently:

It's not a midi controller out of the box, but I find it is great for triggering clips, selecting rows, target layer, whatever. They have a newer model which looks awesome and has an blue LED backlight

Yeah, I bought one last thursday and used it on friday for the first time.

I only had 2 hours to play around with it before (configure and connect it with VDMX).
And I only had little space left in the club.
What should I say?
I was pretty happy with that little thing! Super-Easy to set up.
Nice stuff I noticed: Small, but solid (not the cable, not the 4 small buttons on the left) / each pad can send up to 8 MIDI notes simultaneously / XY-Pad can be used for MIDI-CC, together with the VDMX smooth beahviour - quite nice.

Definately a very good price value. I really enjoyed it.
