In earlier VDMX builds I would changed the In point (start) of a clip and jump back to it to make the video jump to the beat when/where I wanted. This was great because I could change it on the fly and reset it no problem on any layer because I mapped all the buttons.
With b8 you can set the In/Out points as before but there's no way to jump to the "beginning" of the clip. I don't like the whole marks system because it's too complicated to have customized marks per clip and to set them up/remove them on the fly while performing.
I've tried mapping the add mark button but then you have to select the proper slider when using it, also the marks remain on the timeline for every clip unless you create a bunch of presets. All of which are not real-time performance friendly. Hours of research have not turned up an easy solution.
I'd suggest adding an in/out point option to the drop down for the Back/Fwd buttons of the layer controls. This way you could easily use the Back/Fwd buttons to jump to the beginning/end of any clip.
Since this is something I do regularly while performing and I can't find an easy way to do it w/ the new build, I'm going to continue using an old build. I'll continue to try and find a simple solution and am open to suggestions.
